Tour Itinerary

Day 1 : Bagdogra Airport / NJP Station to Darjeeling (appx 4 hrs / 93 km)

You will be met by our representative on arrival at NJP Railway Station / Bagdogra Airport and transferred to Darjeeling by car. Darjeeling standing high in the Himalayas at an altitude of 2123 meters / 70001 feet, 'Dorje Ling', or ‘Place of the Thunderbolt’, offers breathtaking views of snow-capped mountain peaks, with the Kanchendzonga rising higher than all the others. Often referred to as the "Queen of the Hills", it remains just as alluring with its tiny waterfalls, little villages and a narrow gauge railway track. It is surrounded by world famous tea gardens. Arrive and check in at your hotel. The rest of the day is free to explore or visit Mall Road for shopping. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.

Day 2 : Darjeeling - Sightseeing

Early morning at 4:30 am, drive to Tiger Hills to see one of the most beautiful sunrises in the world. On the way back visit Batasia Loop (War Memorial) and Ghoom Monastery. Return to the hotel to freshen up and have Breakfast. After breakfast, enjoy Half Day City Tour of Darjeeling including Padmaja Naidu Zoological Park, Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday), Ropeway, Tensing Gumpo Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self Help Center (Closed on Sunday), Tea Estate, Natural History Museum (Sunday Closed), Peace Pagoda. Evening is free to stroll around the Mall area or Chowk Bazaar. Overnight stay in Darjeeling.

Day 3 : Darjeeling to Gangtok (appx 3½ hrs / 135 Kilometers)

After  Breakfast, transfer to Gangtok. Gangtok is the capital of the 22nd State of India, Sikkim is one of the most beautiful hill station with varied options for tourist – It is known for the monastery, Orchids, High altitude Lake and butterflies – It has option for tourist of all ages – Check into Hotel – Drive for visit to Directorate of Handicrafts & Handloom, Research Institute of Tibetology, Do Drul Chorten (Stupa), Enchey Monastery, White Hall, Flower Show. Back to the hotel, Evening is free for leisure. Overnight stay in Gangtok.

Day 4 : Gangtok to Lachung (appx 5½ hrs / 120 km)

After Breakfast proceed for Lachung. Lachung is situated at an altitude of 8600 feet. On the way stop and enjoy a few wonderful locations like Tashi Viewpoint, Kabi Lungstok, Naga Waterfalls, confluence of Lachen chu and Lachung Chu at Chungthang, Twin Waterfalls and Bhim Nala Waterfalls. The roads are colored with full bloom of Primulae, Rhododendrons and many other Alpine flowers Guest specially during spring – Guest are likely to reach Lachung at late afternoon or early evening. Check into the hotel. Evening free to stroll around the village. Overnight stay in Lachung.

Day 5 : Lachung - Yumthang Valley

After Breakfast drive towards Yumthang Valley (famous as Valley of variety of Rhododendron) situated at an elevation of nearly 11800 feet. On the way you may visit the famous hot spring which is known for its curative properties of skin diseases. Yumthang is a valley near the river Lachung Chu surrounded by mountains where the tree line ends. In spring the valley erupts in riots of colors as Primulae, Rhododendrons and many other Alpine flowers in full bloom along with snow covered valley except in autumn. During winter Yumthang is somber with snow all around and the snow clad mountains adding to the ethereal beauty. Return to your hotel at Lachung. After lunch visit Lachung Monastery, Cottage Industry and Waterfalls. Evening free to stroll around the village. Overnight at Lachung.

Day 6 : Lachung to Gangtok (appx 5½ hrs / 120 km)

After breakfast proceed for Gangtok. On the way stops at Singhik and Mangan. If the weather is fine and the sky is clear one can enjoy the view of Himalayan range with Mount Kanchenjunga, Mount Pandim, Mount Kabru, Mount  Simvo, Mount Jopuno, Mount Khanchendzonga and mount Siniolchu. Various location offers a majestic view of these peaks hence photography will consume some time. The drive will be smooth due to the scenic beauty as in spring the forest cover erupts in a riot of colors as Rhododendrons, Primulae and many other Alpine Flowers are in full bloom. Arrive Gangtok. Evening free to roam around M G Road (Mall Road) or local Shopping Center. Overnight stay in Gangtok.

Day 7 : Gangtok - Tsomgo (Changu) Lake and Baba Mandir

After Breakfast head out for Tsomgo Lake (12,313 feet) also known as Changu Lake. It a glacial lake in the East Sikkim, some 40 km from the capital Gangtok. The lake is fed by melting snows of the surrounding mountains. Legends say that lamas could forecast the future by studying the color of the lake's waters. Then visit Baba Mandir built by army men in honor of Major "Baba" Harbhajan Singh a heroic Indian army soldier who died in 1968 near the Nathu La in eastern Sikkim. Overnight stay in Gangtok.
Enjoy an optional trip to *Nathula Pass at 14,140 feet on the Indo China Border, weather permitting. This was the place through which the famous Silk Route used to operate until 1962. Return to Gangtok and spend the evening at leisure. 

*Because of the high altitude at Nathula, oxygen level in the air is quite low. A few (adults or children) can face breathing problems at Nathula. If you already have breathing or other health problems, you should consult your doctor before the visit.

Day 8 : Departure Gangtok
